• born in new orleans but moved to boston with her mother, brother, and grandmother when she was three after her parents separated and her father moved to nashville.

• began taking dance through a school owned by her mother's best friend when the family was settled in boston. also learned piano from her grandmother, something that bonded them through otherwise difficult times.

• spent every summer and most holidays in nashville with her father. eventually permanently moved in with him at age 13. for the first few years she visited boston every few months, but these visits slowly grew shorter and less frequent.

• attended vanderbilt university for one year before dropping out to work instead.

• aside from a few odd jobs, she has spent most of her adult life working at her father's recording studio and teaching/choreographing dance.

• her mother has had an on/off substance abuse issue for as long as kelsey can remember that puts a great deal of strain on a very distant relationship. most of their contact is short-lived and typically when initiated by jennifer, she is looking for some kind of financial help.

• loves performing whether it is dance or music, if she has the opportunity to perform she will. kelsey can frequently be found at open mic nights and karaoke bars.

• is extremely close with her step-mother, gina, who her father married when kelsey was 14. together they have three children: nathan (7), jacob (5), and marina (2)

• plays piano and guitar, dabbles a bit with drums and bass but is mostly comfortable with the first two.
